Stay safe and have fun today. I work tonight, but I'm at the BBQ in spirit!

Here's a playlist!

Looking at other playlists online, everyone puts Martina McBride's "Independence Day" on them. That's not about the 4th of July... get past the title of the song and the first line... it's a woman saving herself and liberating herself from an abusive relationship. Thanks. Also, Born In The U.S.A. is NOT a "rah rah 'Merica!" patriotic song. Get past the chorus, and listen closer. I mean, if that's where your particular playlist is going, all patriotic and whatnot? Enjoy!

We’re off in a few to go spend Thanksgiving with the family. 82° at the moment, a very SUMMERY Thanksgiving Day here. Anyway, to my fellow Americans, if you’re traveling stay safe, and have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving. Pass the turkey and stuffing!

Ireland Forever!

Tuesday is St. Patrick's Day, the one day of the year when EVERYONE is Irish! I'm part Irish on my mother's side, actually. We plan on going out to the local Irish pub/restaurant for a little corned beef and cabbage, a little Guinness, and a little authentic Irish music.

History and customs of St. Patrick's Day as well as some other goodies!

If you're headin' out t'the pub, here are some Irish drinking songs to get you in the mood.

May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

A download for you:

When Irish Eyes Are Smiling

If you aren't feeling the corned beef like I am, then here are some other Irish recipes to try out!

So whether you're waiting til Tuesday or doing your celebrating this weekend, have fun, and stay Irish!

One more toast before we lift the parting glass:

May you be in heaven a full half hour
before the devil knows your dead.
May you live as long as you want
and never want as long as you live.

Happy New Year to all of you. May 2009 hold ever better things for you and yours.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends and much love to those elsewhere in the world. Even if you don't celebrate, take the time out today to think of those things you are thankful for and count your blessings. Love. And. Peace.

Happy Canada day to my lovely Northern neighbors!!

Happy May Day! Hope it's been a good one for you! It's been a beautiful day outside, cooler than yesterday. Still it feels more like midsummer than the beginning of May. Gotta love Florida.

Today I'm wearing BPAL's "Beltane" in all it's lovely spring like goodness.

Mugwort, French rose, Lily of the Valley, broom, frankincense, myrrh, benzoin, foxglove, woodruff, rowan wood, ivy, sandalwood, spring mint, thyme, iris, copal, and night blooming jasmine.

*sniffs self* Mmmmmmmm.

You're my "cyber neighbors" and friends, so I thought I'd hang a little Cyber May Day basket on your "doors". It used to be traditional to leave one on the doorstep, and hide so nobody saw you. But I'm doing it this way.

And did you know that today is supposed to be a good day to see faeries?

Have a lovely May Day and a blessed Beltane!

Here's one of my favorites from childhood:

The Unicorn - The Irish Rovers

And finally, an Irish blessing.

May the sun shine all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!

As usual I'll be glued (well as much as I can be) to the Twilight Zone Marathon on Sci-Fi. It's my tradition and I look forward to it every year. I will actually be off on New Year's Eve so I'll be able to see a bunch. I have to work New Year's Day till 4pm though so I'll be doing some taping of eps I don't have already.

Schedule for December 31

Highlights for me:

A Penny For Your Thoughts (8:30am)
Nightmare As A Child (1:30pm)
I Sing The Body Electric (4pm)
Where Is Everybody? (6pm)
Time Enough At Last (11pm) (MUST always catch this one, even though I have it on my DVD set!!)
Last Stop At Willoughby (1am)

Schedule for January 1

Highlights for me:

The Dummy (9am) *need to tape*
Nothing In The Dark (2:30pm) (no need to tape this, it's on my DVD set)
It's A Good Life (3pm) (no need to tape this, it's on my DVD set)
Midnight Sun (4pm)
Living Doll (4:30pm)
Miniature (5pm)
In The Praise of Pip (6:30pm) (Jack Klugman is brilliant in this! BRILLIANT.)
Eye of the Beholder (7pm) (one of those that they must show every single marathon without fail)
Number Twelve Looks Just Like You (7:30pm)
Night of the Meek (8:30pm) (Art Carney is completely wonderful in this one)
Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (11pm) (another that is shown every single marathon without fail)
The Masks (12am)

I'll be tuning in and out here and there New Years Eve. It's a bunch that day that I have on tape or on DVD already so I'm not really missing much, but will have it on during my favorites above anyway. The rest of the time I'm doing my other tradition that I adore which is watching Marx Brothers movies. After I watch the original Oceans Eleven (Rat Pack FTW!!)

I'll be sticking close to home as usual. I'm not much of a party girl any more, and New Years Eve is not when I like being out and on the road. I'd rather be cozy and comfy with some hors d'oeuvres, chilled bubbly and my TV watchin'. Yay!!! I'm a boring geek, I know. LOL!!

What are your plans for the upcoming party night?

Hopefully 2008 will be a lot better since 2007 was all kinds of suck for so many of us.

Happy Easter / Happy Spring! Going to enjoy a quiet day with family. We'll have a big dinner this afternoon.

And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year."
