Please tell me I'm not hearing some ultra conservatives say that the Hurricane Benefit concert, that raised nearly 23 million dollars for the Red Cross to deliver aid to the people and communities that need it was a POLITICAL RALLY FOR OBAMA? You've got to freaking be kidding me.

Really now? And because of the TIMING of it? Oh no, no, no. People need aid. NOW. What did you want, to wait until after the election happened? Then it would be decried as being too late! Go take a collective seat right over there and shut up.

I repeat, Obama has landed. Well, a little bit ago and he's already given a speech. And outside the traffic delays due to the motorcade, he caused some other drama during his stop at Century Village in West Palm Beach tonight. 20 Republican protesters were positioned outside.

He'll be staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Manalapan over night and is due to fly out at 9:30 in the morning. And he'll be back down here for the third and final Presidential Debate at Lynn University here in Boca in October.

Is it November yet? I'm politicked out. LOL

Among my state's governor Charlie Crist's last acts in office? He's considering pardoning Jim Morrison. In 1969, Morrison was charged with indecent exposure and profanity when performing at Dinner Key in Coconut Grove. BTW Jim Morrison is a Florida native, born in Melbourne and is an FSU alum.

Many fans have been clamoring for this for awhile and I do believe that the appeal put in motion before Morrison died should probably be completed and the case looked at. At the time, Morrison was sentenced to six months in jail and a $500 fine but died before the sentence could be carried out.

It can't harm anything really and it's only right. I just hope though that Crist does turn his hand to more important issues as well during his remaining time in office. We still have a hard time with unemployment here for one thing. And don't remind me that we're getting Rick Scott in as governor... UGH. *rubs temples*

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- "President Bush used his veto power Wednesday for the first time since taking office 5 1/2 years ago, saying that an embryonic stem-cell research bill "crossed a moral boundary."

Somebody obviously fell asleep during science class.

"Vice President Dick Cheney will headline a Boca Raton fundraiser today for Republican U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw of Fort Lauderdale, underlining the competitiveness of his reelection campaign.

Today's luncheon for Shaw will be held at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Roughly 200 people are expected at a cost of $500 per person.

He is scheduled to land at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport at 12:05 p.m. and depart at 3 p.m. to Naples, where he will address the Collier County Republican Party."

He's here, and only like right across the intracoastal from me. I can see the hotel out my window. Yeah.

Wasn't too bad at the polling place. There were quite a few people there but it moved quickly enough. There were no lawyer types looking over shoulders and such either.

The woman who signed me in said she's been working the polls for many years and has never seen anything like this, and our precinct is even a small one! She said they were waiting an hour and a half to two hours in line this morning, I made it in and out of there in just under an hour. But now people start getting off work and such so it'll be really busy again... or busier rather than it has been this afternoon so far.

Hopefully we won't have the results all drawn out and debated like in 2000. The pundits are saying that it's looking like that won't happen so let's hope not. ::crosses fingers::

How it's going so far.

It's gonna be a long night.

It's November 2 my fellow Americans. And you know what that means. If you're registered, you need to get out there and vote. Your voice does count, your one vote does make a difference. So go out today and do your duty. And I'm also rejoicing 'cause this means the end of these neverending campaign ads!! ::dances:: Erm... and I take no responsibility for anything boneheaded that occurs in Florida this election. Right. Onward.

I'm Polly Weifenbach and I approve this message.
