I admit that I have always really despised the premise of that show. I can't/won't make any judgments on it beyond that because I've never seen it, but I feel like it would take a lot to turn what sounds to a secondhand observer like it's a show about saying "surprise, everyone else hates the stuff you like, here let me boss you around until we're comfortable looking at you" into something positive.
But, a lot of people liked it, enough that it ran for ten years, so I'm totally open to the possibility there's something I missed out on in my TV-owning, cable-having days while I was watching endless reruns of Mythbusters, Shark Week Discovery, every haunted place or food show on the Travel Channel, and whatever was airing on Animal Planet. XD
I understand that feeling about it. But I did actually pick up a thing here and there, with makeup and some staple clothing pieces. They did start making everyone look "cookie cutter" after a bit, but early on, there were some good things.
