I've been a member here since 2002. I'm a permanent account. I've been loyal to Livejournal, I've enjoyed it here immensely, made some pretty nice friendships through it.

That said, please don't make me leave, LJ.

I've kept quiet and not complained when other changes were made. I'd look at the comments, roll my eyes a little and say 'you know what people you'll get used to it, it's really alright'. But this? THIS? I'm complaining. Futzing around with our friends pages is an infinitely BAD idea.

I HATE infinite scrolling. Now, on my tumblr dashboard that works because you can click and go right back up to the top of the posts. LJ, you are not tumblr! You are not Facebook! Stop trying to be! Now I've had a few friends saying this is the straw that breaks the camel's back and this is what will make them leave, after all the other shenanigans haven't.

At least, AT LEAST give us the ability to opt in or out of this ugly horrific mess of a friends page layout! Now, I haven't seen the link or anything telling me to switch and I still see friends pages in my style. Hopefully that continues. *crosses fingers*

The thing is, though, LJ doesn't give a crap. They see complaint after complaint, I know they read the comments on the news posts and the posts on LJ Releases. Yet they dismiss them. They continue to further alienate their loyal, long standing user base like this? Why? In favor of attracting new blood here? New blood is welcome. Always. However you have long standing account holders here, even permanent ones such as myself, who I feel in a way invested in LJ because of that. And this is what we get? We get 'we hear you and we don't give a shit?'

Please don't make me leave. I don't want to. But if you mess with my friends page, and in the same action drive my friends away, I'm going with them.

If you do go, I made an emergency DW as backup, and I'd like to add you if that's where you end up (seems like about the only alternative).

Not that I'm kooky about the "reading page" there mind you, but at least it's customizable, and loads better than... this.

I can't see this stuff at all due to cell phone only coverage. But this might be a turning point for me. I've been permanent since 2002, here since 2000. So wrong.

Plus it seems like all their US staff has quit/been fired, and you know the Russians do not give a fuck.

If so you and I are already added each other there. It's just shitty all around. I know, so much if not all the U.S. staff of LJ is gone / let go. And no the Russians don't give a fuck. :(
