To those that have been migrating here from LJ, hopefully we've found each other! LOL! I did a small import today so I'm up to date here.
I'm still there too, for now, that is. Mainly because I have a few communities that are awesome and I enjoy that are still pretty good and active. I'm looking for more good ones to join here, too, so if you have any recommendations and suggestions please let me know! In looking a lot of communities here are really slow, and updated weeks upon weeks ago. I don't know how to even begin looking for an active good community of my interest. Hmm...

Oct. 30th, 2012 01:27 pmI've been a member here since 2002. I'm a permanent account. I've been loyal to Livejournal, I've enjoyed it here immensely, made some pretty nice friendships through it.
That said, please don't make me leave, LJ.
I've kept quiet and not complained when other changes were made. I'd look at the comments, roll my eyes a little and say 'you know what people you'll get used to it, it's really alright'. But this? THIS? I'm complaining. Futzing around with our friends pages is an infinitely BAD idea.
I HATE infinite scrolling. Now, on my tumblr dashboard that works because you can click and go right back up to the top of the posts. LJ, you are not tumblr! You are not Facebook! Stop trying to be! Now I've had a few friends saying this is the straw that breaks the camel's back and this is what will make them leave, after all the other shenanigans haven't.
At least, AT LEAST give us the ability to opt in or out of this ugly horrific mess of a friends page layout! Now, I haven't seen the link or anything telling me to switch and I still see friends pages in my style. Hopefully that continues. *crosses fingers*
The thing is, though, LJ doesn't give a crap. They see complaint after complaint, I know they read the comments on the news posts and the posts on LJ Releases. Yet they dismiss them. They continue to further alienate their loyal, long standing user base like this? Why? In favor of attracting new blood here? New blood is welcome. Always. However you have long standing account holders here, even permanent ones such as myself, who I feel in a way invested in LJ because of that. And this is what we get? We get 'we hear you and we don't give a shit?'
Please don't make me leave. I don't want to. But if you mess with my friends page, and in the same action drive my friends away, I'm going with them.

They're picking really old public entries to post in and always anonymous. Right now I only screen anonymous comments, but I might end up having to turn them off all together.

Sep. 26th, 2010 11:05 amAre some userpics not showing up? Lately when reading my friends page I've seen a few on a page show up but others are broken images. Is something going on? I looked at status and known issues and it isnt' even addressed as an issue.
Okay never mind figured it out, it's a bug in Chrome. Lots of images via different servers and it times out on some. Firefox works fine, but I LIKE Chrome. It works faster! *pouts*

It'll be on a very old public entry, and stuff like debt consolidation websites or other advertisement. It's not all the time, but there have been enough of them. I just delete them and mark them as spam. Has anyone else been getting that happening?

Sep. 21st, 2008 11:20 pmHappy end of the first day of fall, everyone! I always pine for parts north this time of year. Florida and perpetual summer just don't cut it when I want apple cider, bonfires, beautifully colored foliage and the kind of crisp air that only happens in the fall.
Rolling out the Halloween icon at default, because I see them starting everywhere around LJ. And I love Halloween!
Off to bed with me. I have the next two days off! Two days off in a row... what luxury that almost never happens, they're mostly split up. :) IKEA tomorrow. YAY!

Well you'll notice. Music. Followed by movies, celebrity gossip and pop culture. I am not trying to be one of THOSE blogs though, I'll leave it to those who do it much better. I just post to squee and fangirl and review and expound. Basically just for my pleasure. LOL!
Mostly I will post twice a week for a meme I like to do called The Music Memoirs that always has fun topics and questions. Look below, for today was one of those days! *grin*
Why entertainment and pop culture? Because it can be amusing. And music because I adore it and it's a huge part of me.
I don't post much personal stuff here at all, I keep my paper journals for that and have since I was a pre teen. I do talk a little, though when I see an interesting meme or survey asking questions etc. For instance I have that alphabet meme to get back to answering eventually.

Okay WHY does LJ keep eating my journal style? Second time it reverted back to Generator. I had to totally delete the old and redo it, and now it's eaten THAT too!! *glares daggers at LJ*

I'm a member of 72 communities, five of those I maintain, which I catch up on through a filter.
I have 16 RSS feeds going into my journal at the moment, which, yes are filtered.
I have 95 people on my friends list which of course can fluctuate as people leave me or join me. The most I've ever had at one time was 103 I think. I never really have gone over that amount.
I also read my friends through a filter. I read those journals first then if I have the time and inclination I'll catch up with feeds then communities.

ringostarrlove previous to the changes here on LJ taking effect... I had the password etc. I was never really made a co maintainer or anything by the original one, just popped in to help with things now and again, and set up the layout. The person listed as maintainer, and who was the one who had me helping out, hasn't been seen nor heard from on LJ in over three years. Just gone.
Now the layout has been broken beyond belief for ages upon ages, and really, it needs attention. I can't get in there to do anything since I'm not a maintainer and you can't just log into communities with passwords any longer as you could before. I had gone in and worked on the info before that took effect. I feel it's high and mighty time to get in there and show it some love and make a maintainer presence known. It's a shame since it's not inactive, and there are members posting. They're pretty good too, nothing bad has happened. If it did they have me to contact but I can't like get IN there to delete problem posts or anything. Luckily that hasn't been the case.
Hopefully the gods of LJ can do this for me and switch me to maintainer. I hate seeing that community floundering. It's Ringo, man!! :)
In other LJ news, I've gone and deleted old journals... people that have switched and not unfriended everyone, or those who've just disappeared. I've gone in and ban_set the old names because I was sick of seeing them sitting there on Also Friend Of. LOL!! There are a couple of journals there that haven't updated in ions but I don't want to defriend them... I like having them there. Maybe I should send out some nudges. *wink*
Just got done watching this movie on Lifetime with Tony Danza. Man! Dude was ebil! E-BIL. LOL!!
