Okay I've had my iPhone 4s for a couple of months now. I'm loving it. I thought I'd share what apps I've got on here so far and find most useful.

Instagram - I'm on the bandwagon. I'm hearing a lot of people have been disappointed with it since Facebook took it over for some reason. I like it a lot, having fun with it, and enjoy seeing my friends on there and the fun stuff they post. If you're on there, look me up! I'm pweifenbach. Don't be afraid to follow and I'll follow you back.

Hipstamatic - Just because I thought it looked cool. Don't use it as much as I do Instagram. I like a couple of the filters for it, but like the interactive idea of Instagram better. I can post my Hipstamatic shots to Instagram, too, so that makes it better.

Foursquare - I don't know what brought me to it other than I had friends who use it. It's a good way of finding each other and reading reviews by the user base.

Facebook / Twitter / Tumblr / Livejournal - All my main social networking sites have apps right here, so I can access them any time I want. Love that.

Pandora / Spotify - It's a good way of listening to some tunes on the fly so that I don't have to download too much to my phone.

Evernote - I just got this one on a recommendation and to be honest haven't really used it or played with it yet.

Pulse News - News aggregator that I like, newspapers, mags, sites, etc all in one convenient place to read.

Around Me - I've used it a couple times, it does come in handy when I'm looking for someplace right off the cuff.

Red Laser - Point your device at a UPC code when you're in the store, and it gives you comparative pricing for that item at all stores nearby and even online, so you can find the best value.

SunTrust - My banking app. Check my current balance on the fly when I need to, and I can even make deposits using it.

Karma - My Reddit reading app.

Ghost Radar - Just a silly, for-fun app. I pointed this thing at a picture of John Lennon in my room and the thing said "imagine." I was like... WOAH. LOL! It's fun to play with.

ADT Matrix - To check our security cameras via my phone when I'm away and need to.

Epicurious / Shopping List - Great recipes, and Shopping List lets me list the needed ingredients so I have it at the store when I go.

Drync Wine - Wine reviews and info, as well as my own "wine cellar", a place to keep track of the bottles I've had and like as well as writing my own notes on them.

Draw Something! - I'm late to the party but I've been having fun with this game.

uView - Just this minute downloaded it because the Rolling Stones told me to on Facebook. LOL! Looks interesting and cool, we'll see what it does.

So what are your favorite apps? Any you recommend that I get?

It's the 79th anniversary of the first drive-in movie theater.

drivein

The first movie I ever saw in my life was at the drive-in. It was Disney's "The Jungle Book". I was about five and a half I think. That's me in Kindergarten in the icon, so about that time. 212 Drive-In in Michigan City, Indiana. Brought our own popcorn and drinks and I was fascinated with the speakers that you had to hang on your windows to hear the sound. Cute short little Google Doodle for it, too. Go check it out!

Stranded at the drive-in, branded a fool.
What will they say Monday at school?

Seriously, TV, smart phones, and other technology, and particularly the internet has really done a number on people. The average attention span is the size of a gnat. It's ridiculous.

TONIGHT! I'm way beyond excited, you guys. *bounces*

I was stupid, tripped up last night when putting up a picture and fell. Not major, but this morning my right third toe hurts like a mother. It's not swollen or discolored so I think I must have sprained it. Crap. Walking around weird today looks like. *sigh*

After putting a pile of old mags out to recycle.

I think I keep so much stuff under my bed - two storage tubs with linens and a stack or two of mags - is so that... nothing ELSE can get under there.

Yes I'm in my 40s and still a baby about the old proverbial monster under the bed. I'm the same way about my closet. MUST be closed at all times.

Anyway.

Also I think Stephen King should get a Twitter account. *nods*

Just checking with y'all. Lately, I've been getting comments containing spam. It'll be on a very old public entry, and stuff like debt consolidation websites or other advertisement. It's not all the time, but there have been enough of them. I just delete them and mark them as spam. Has anyone else been getting that happening?
hippie_chick: (Tori Amos / Clyde)
Well I was unable to get any coverage for tomorrow night so it looks like I'm closing the store then getting packed and ready for a 6:45 am flight. Ah well. *sigh*

I have to pack, will do that before work tomorrow. While I'm doing that I'll throw some laundry in.

Playing with my SIMS. I started a new family... got some nice mods... skintones, hair, etc. so was excited to use them. My SIMS are hot, baby.

I seem to have neglected Facebook and MySpace so badly.

Facebook. So many applications, so little time. At least I keep up on the friend adds because I have notifications come to my cell phone and add them right then and there.

But oh man. I feel bad. So many people hugging, poking and otherwise throwing Spam at me as well as pillows and other paraphernalia that I need to catch up. Sorry Facebook Friends! I'll be back, and I'll shower you all with some Facebook Love. ♥ I promise. I PROMISE. Hey, at least I updated my status! LOL!

MySpace. It's been weeks since I've checked there. I need to see what's going on there, too.

In other news, I watched my special edition DVD of "Pretty In Pink" last night. How much love do I have for Duckie?! OMG. Loved the interviews in the extras. Jon Cryer and Molly Ringwald were talking about how they changed the ending of the movie so that Andie ends up with Blane instead of Duckie. Why? Because test audiences actually BOOED at the original ending. I love me some Duck Man, but you know, in thinking about it, I guess it would be not quite right for them to be together in that way. She didn't feel that way about him. He was more of best friend / brother / protector material in her eyes. Anyway. Enough analyzing fictional characters. I need to get more coffee and get going around here. We're to leave for a family gathering very soon.

Dear Comcast:

Please to not be SWITCHING CHANNEL LINEUPS AROUND without any advance notice and a new listing in the mail (I mean furreal, we got our bill yesterday could have been with that) , OR you could at LEAST have put the revised lineup on the website, and not still have the old one up!

No love, and NO cookies!

Me.

Seriously, I realize this is going to happen for a bit as they add more and more HD channels, but come on. Nothing like turning on a channel you do every evening and NOT have it there all the sudden.

Movies?

I'm looking at movies on iTunes and Amazon.

Give me a movie rec. I want to rent something.

I just got done with "Lars and the Real Girl" a couple of days ago off iTunes and it was pretty good. I enjoyed it.

Looking at "One Missed Call". Want something creepy and "The Ring" style to watch. This looks like it's been getting so-so reviews, though. Anyone see that? Should I rent that one?

Ideas please?

Yes, all of my music is safe and sound on the new computer. Everything made it. However there is one tiny, minor, most irritating problem.

The tags are all FUBARed. Some lost tags completely and others need retagging correctly. So. This means loading everything in WinAmp now and letting Grace Note do it's job. By me clicking. On. Every. Single. Song. And checking info. And auto tagging. I decided I won't mass tag (except by full albums) because it's just too crazy. I'd rather have each file right.

Feh.

Now you know why I haven't scrobbled in a bit, those of you who watch me on LastFM!! I'll be back there soon I promise. Perhaps as I go along tagging.

Off I go.

Survey!

March is coming in like a lamb, at least here in South Florida. It's a beautiful day so far, calm, blue sky, 74 degrees.

And to think I have to go to work from 2-10pm today. Feh.

Hey asshole! Whatever you're doing in your car down below the apartment in the street, turn your freakin' heavy metal music DOWN, goddamnit! The car is sitting there (SUV) with the hatch open, he's here and there, and the music is blaring.

I'm surprised someone hasn't said something yet. Seriously. I'm ready to.

ETA

It's done. He was down there almost an hour. Nice and quiet now.

So how's everyone's New Year's Day going? I hope everyone had a nice time doing whatever you were doing last night. :) Switched off my Marx Brothers movie (Animal Crackers... LOVE) to watch the ball drop on Times Square. Dick Clark looked good but it is sad hearing him with his speech so impaired from the stroke. :(

Just got home from work and getting ready for dinner soon. LOL I just switched on Twilight Zone. "It's A Good Life" ended just as I turned it on and now there's one about a man who wipes mankind out with the powers of his mind. I don't know that I'd want *that* power, however. I mean really... *some* people can be a pain but I don't know if I could handle being the only one left. Anywhere. Freaky.

Yesterday there was one I don't think I've ever actually seen! It was a teleplay, it was that early... done before they started taping them. A woman dreams a nurse leads her to the morgue. It was good and creepy.

Some good ones coming on in the next few hours so I'm gonna hunker down with 'em. Off tomorrow so I can enjoy till late. :)
