I liberated the following survey from The Pond (thanks rfduck!), who liberated it from MySpace, for something to do for a few minutes while I wait on coffee and get ready to start the pies we're taking over to my aunt's today.
Of all the bands/artists in your cd/record collection, which one do you own the most albums by?
Probably a tie between the Beatles and the Stones with the Beatles slightly edging the Stones out.
What was the last song you listened to?
"So Yesterday" by Hilary Duff. And gods no, not by my own free will. It was the last thing playing as I left work last afternoon, and I didn't have any music on last night at all, just watched TV.
What's in your record/CD player right now?
::peeks in there:: Still my "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob Dylan from the last time I played it. I haven't played a CD at home here in a bit, it's been either online, the iPod, or Sirius for music. Reminds me though I need to pull out the holiday stuff so I should probably do that.
What song pretty much sums you up?
Just lately it's been "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin. Because after all, on us all a little rain must fall.
What's your favorite local band?
I'm really not up on many local bands but I had a big thing for Saigon Kick, who are out of Miami. You may remember them from their 1991 hit "Love Is On The Way".
What was the last show you attended?
I haven't been to a concert since Ringo Starr at Mizner Park last year. Ticket prices are just out of control really and I'm never around right when things go on sale (usually on Saturday mornings, and I'm at work) so I end up missing out, like the latest tours by Paul McCartney, U2, The Stones... :( I probably could have gone but I'd have payed way too much money and it could be better used elsewhere. I do want to at least try and get in for the Aerosmith show coming up though. They went on sale last Saturday so I don't know how well I'll do. I've never seen them live yet and it's like oh YES!! At least I have seen those other bands I've mentioned live, so I think Aerosmith is my goal. ::nods::
What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
OMG the one and only time I've seen the Rolling Stones live, on the Steel Wheels tour. I couldn't believe it it was so exciting and so great!
What's the worst band you've ever seen in concert?
Haven't been to a concert yet that I haven't enjoyed.
What band do you love musically but hate the members of?
Metallica but only because of Lars.
What is the most musically involved you have ever been?
I was in every musical in Jr High and High School, in choir every year from grade school through High School, and play a little piano and guitar.
What shows are you looking forward to?
As mentioned above, I'm going to *try* and go to Aerosmith when they're here.
What musicians would you like to hang out with for a day?
Oh man... I would LOVE to hang out with U2 for one day. Just to be able to talk to Bono.
What musician would you like to be in love with for a day?
David Bowie. If I could wrest him from Iman for just that long.
Pat Benatar or Cyndi Lauper?
Love 'em both but Pat rocks harder.
Sabbath or solo Ozzy?
Oh Sabbath!Ozzy for sure.
Commodores or solo Lionel Ritchie?
Commodores!Lionel.
Punk rock, hip hop or heavy metal?
Oh... of the three... Punk.
Doesn't Primus suck?
If you say so...
Name 5 flawless albums:
Nevermind - Nirvana
Revolver - The Beatles
Superunknown - Soundgarden
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Hysteria - Def Leppard
Did you know that filling out this survey makes you a music geek?
And there's something wrong with that?
What was the greatest decade for music?
The 60s and much of the non-disco 70s
How many music-related videos/dvds do you own?
10 I think. I haven't counted.
Do you like Journey?
Somewhat.
Don't try to pretend you don't!
I don't totally dislike them, but I'm not like HUGE on them either.
What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
Almost Famous.
What was your last musical phase?
I dont really know. I listen to everything I love pretty much equally.
What's the crappiest CD/record/etc.
If it's a CD of twangy country songs all about cryin' in your beer, forget it. Wears thin on me.
Do you prefer vinyl or CDs?
I miss vinyl. I NEED to get my turntable fixed.
All totalled, how much do you spend on music a month?
I've been downloading single songs more than actually buying CDs, the last one I bought at a store was last week, Madonna's Confessions on a Dance Floor... I'd say about $20-$30 depending.
Well that was fun. Now to go start preparing for the day. I intend to eat till I bust.
