It's the morning after. Oscars have been given, parties have been attended. It was a nice night. Nothing really swept, the awards were pretty much across the board. I didn't do too badly guessing. I got all the major acting awards right as well as screenplay and a few others. Best Picture really threw me I should have known Crash would get it, but I really was pulling for Brokeback to do both Director and Picture. It's alright though. Crash was amazing. Everyone must see this film. Really. You must. Other than that, it was a really low key ceremony. I gasped when Jennifer Garner came out to present and almost fell but caught herself. And much MUCH love for Owen and Luke Wilson!! Ben Stiller was a hoot in his green screen suit, too. Jon did alright as host, he was his same deadpan self. By all means not stellar, and many times he downright tanked, but it's not an easy gig and he handled the task adequately. Adorable acceptances from the Wallace and Gromit guys (Oscar bowties!!) and the Penguins team. I WANT one of those stuffed Penguins! OMGSOCUTE! The "gay cowboy" montage was a HOOT. Anyway, on to the awards.

The Big Winners!

Actor:

Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote.
I was VERY happy for his win!! Yes it would have also been wonderful for Joaquin to have won, but I was really pulling for Phil. His transformation into Truman Capote was nothing short of amazing.

Actress:

Reese Witherspoon for Walk The Line.
I wasn't able to see Felicity Huffman in her role in Transamerica, but I do know from clips I have seen and things I've heard from those who have seen it she was amazing. I love her anyway, and would have liked her to win, I just knew in my gut she wouldn't though. I did see Reese in her role, and it made me very happy that she won. I think she's adorable and was a fabulous June Carter. Both she and Ryan looked marvellous.

Reese and Phil with their shiny new Oscars:

Supporting Actor:

George Clooney for Syriana.
I love Matt Dillon and he was nothing short of brilliant in his role in Crash, and it would have been wonderful for him to have won. But here again I knew in my gut that out of the five awards George was nominated for this would be the one they'd give him. I didn't get to see Syriana, but I was thrilled for George.

Supporting Actress:

Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener.
I wanted Michelle Williams, but went with my gut again, and figured it would go to Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener so I picked her and was proven right. I also thought Catherine Keener was a lovely and strong Harper Lee in Capote, but this wasn't her "Oscar" role.

Best Picture:

Crash.

Well acted, smart, edgy, angry, raw, poignant, amazing. I'm glad I was wrong with picking Brokeback and this one won.

Best Director:

Ang Lee for Brokeback Mountain. SO glad he got this one! Well deserved.

Suprise of the night:

It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp. No, I wasn't expecting that AT all. Wow. WOW. Loved the pimp jokes that followed though. Like saying how Three 6 Mafia and Itzhak Perlman's "posse" would tangle after the show. Too funny. Queen Latifah was all like "Now why wasn't I in that number?!"

Fashion:

Lots of color on the red carpet this year. I liked alot of the gowns. It truly was a "return to glamour".

Michelle Williams was absolutely stunning. I liked everything. Her gown... the color. Her makeup, hair... she glowed. And it didn't hurt to have Heath at her side either. Gorgeous and I think my favorite look of the night.

Keira looked lovely... I liked the rich color of her gown.

Nicole was as stunning as ever and seems very glowing and happy. Isn't she pregnant or is that a rumor? She looked her same svelte self, so I was wondering...

UMA! Uma the glamour girl!! ♥

Charlize Theron was gorgeous and beautiful and all that good stuff, but hers was my least favorite gown of the night for some reason.

It lost me I think at the huge bow on her shoulder. I felt like someone should come along and lance the thing. Or something. But *mwah* love ya Charlize!!

And lastly, since there was nary a trace of Johnny Depp anywhere to be seen, *cries* I give you KEANU!
Uuuuunnnnhhhhh. *drool*

Oh. Keanu.

And that's it for this year. See you next Oscars!
