And last but not least... the notorious axe murderess Lizzie Borden was born on this day.

gave her mother forty whacks
when she saw what she had done
she gave her father forty one

However, did she really do it? The case and Lizzie have become so ingrained on the American conscience (see the rhyme above) that people just automatically assumed she'd done it...but this really by and large remains an unsolved case. There was no hard evidence connecting her to it... but she *did* burn her dress... hmmmm! The case has long fascinated me.

Anyway... don't know what the rest of the day has in store yet, I guess I'll play it by ear. I was going to go down to the pool or even the beach, but it's way too hot. I'll do something inside where it's cool. I am going to Pirates Of The Carribean this weekend, but don't know if that will be today sometime or tomorrow.
