Another summer is over...
Sep. 1st, 2003 05:30 pmSeptember is upon us once again. Living here in Florida this time of year makes me wistful for up north. I sure can do without living through six month long winters anymore, but I always loved the fall.
Big bonfires, changing leaves, hitting the apple orchard for the harvest and fresh cider... that crispness in the air... raking leaves, and the crunching sound they make underfoot... ::sigh:: I just may have to take a trip up maybe next month just to see it!
We used to go down to Brown County in Indiana every year when the colors were at their peak. Here's a picture (off the internet) of the vista there...

Pretty, huh? Dependent on many factors though, some falls are better than others as far as the foliage and such.
And you know what else I miss? Indian Summer. I remember as a child in Indiana LOVING Indian Summer. That spell of hazy, quiet, warm weather you'd have in October and sometimes early November...
and don't you love that name? I do!
We've already started getting in Christmas stuff at the store, have it all up top in the stockroom ready to start putting out as Halloween sells down. We're setting that in another week or so. Already have like three feet of the aisle done, with candy. The entire aisle will be Halloween candy, costumes, makeup, etc... by the time all is said and done.
That's the thing about working in retail. I love it, I love seeing so many different people each day, and like the people I work with. And my boss rocks. But we go in seasons, and that makes the year go so quickly! Too quickly! At least to me it does. ::laughs::
Playing around with my camera again...
( it's me! )
Not all that horrific... better than my first one anyway! ::laughs::
And here's....
( cat cam! )
That's my Pyewacket.
Anyroad... that's about it for now... gonna go eat dinner. Talk at you later! <3
