I am currently very bored so I was just surfing random journals out there in the depths of LJ land. Remind me never to do that again. Right.
So. Found out today that Fred Berry, aka "Rerun" died. Apparently according to news releases, it was of natural causes... he'd suffered a stroke before, but they are investigating it.
I remember that show "What's Happening!" very well. My favorites and the ones that really stick out to me were when the guys went to the Doobie Brothers concert, and when Rerun joined that cult that worshipped a head of lettuce. Fred was truly very funny. Here's to you, Rerun. Hey hey hey!
Gah! I have Pop Up Stopper Professional now, and it's working well. However there is just one thing. Anyone else who has this program can tell me if it's just me or not. My popups seem to be multiplying faster than a pair of rabbits. Seriously. I turned the thing off because it was interfering with my viewing of this one website I was on, and as soon as I did that, millions of ads flooded me. I mean faster than I could close one window another would open. At the end, sixty, yes sixty or so windows dumped themselves upon me.
I looked at my history and 1,422 items in my cache? Woah. Almost ALL ad servers! Cleaned it... and it's back up to 500 again and climbing. UGH. I give up. ::raises hands in surrender::
I got a new toy! Yes, a new cell phone. It's da bomb. A Motorola i95cl. And I now have a couple groovy Beatles songs and Led Zep's Stairway To Heaven downloaded as ringtones now. I changed plans and carriers, meaning my phone number is changed... so I fixed that on my userinfo page...and text messages can still be sent if you wish.

TV commercials... yeah, the TV is on in the next room. Now... I never could understand the need to make commercials for things like Tampax, or toilet paper. I mean, we KNOW their use. I really don't need to be told about that "oh so fresh feeling" I can get by using said product. Purleeze. Oh! And now there is one for VCF (Vaginal Cleansing Film)! That's just seriously... I don't know. ::shakes head::
Others I find quite grating: Carrot Top. ::shudders:: No. We won't even go there. The "zoom zoom" car ad. UGH. Most car ads suck anyway. "Can you hear me now...?" ... yeah, dude. And I'd like to throw you off the edge of the freakin' Grand Canyon. Totally.
And WTF is this new trend of commercials before movies at the theater? I mean I PAID for a ticket in there. And let's face it, they are getting expensive. So I don't really need to see a damn commercial before the feature... I get enough of those on TV at home.
On the other side of the coin though, why do the AFLAC duck and the Geico gecko amuse me so much? Hmm....
Anyroad. It's almost 1pm! I just realized that I am hungry. So yeah. Sammich. Hee! Bye! <3
