Emotional music again...

Name three songs that never fail to make you a little melancholy. (sad)
1. Tears In Heaven - Eric Clapton.
2. Freebird - Lynyrd Skynard.
3. Baker Baker - Tori Amos.
Honorable Mentions:
And OMG can you listen to that old nugget from the 1970s by Henry Goss, "Shannon", about Carl Wilson's dearly departed dog and not shed a tear? I DARE YOU. ::sniff:: But then again I crack up now since it's use on the "Anchorman" soundtrack. Gotta love Will Ferrel.
Also:
Streets of Philadelphia by Bruce Springsteen. And I quote:
Ain’t no angel gonna greet me
It’s just you and I my friend
My clothes don’t fit me no more
I walked a thousand miles
Just to slip the skin
The night has fallen, I’m lyin’awake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia
On My Own as sung by Eponine in "Les Miserables". Again I quote:
I love him
But every day I'm learning
All my life
I've only been pretending
Without me
His world would go on turning
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known
I love him
I love him
I love him
But only on my own.
Alright enough being emo, dammit. Pass me that box of tissue!
Name three artists who never fail to pick you back up.
1. The Beatles
2. Donny Osmond
3. 80s era Madonna
There now, I feel better!
Name three albums that you were never quite sure why you bought them but they own a little piece of your heart now.
1.
These Here Are Crazy Times - Boom Crash Opera. Purchased back when it came out, I think around 1990... when I worked as a manager at Sam Goody. I played it at least once every shift for the song "Onion Skin" but wasn't grabbed by any of the rest at first. Then it grew on me the more it played. I loved that time, working there, so I guess now it owns a piece of my heart for sentimental reasons. Actually this band was quite underrated, and not promoted well enough here in the States.
2.
Weezer (The Blue Album) - Weezer. Bought for the song "Buddy Holly" but I dug the whole thing more as I played it more. "My Name Is Jonas", "In The Garage", "Undone (The Sweater Song)". Got me actually liking the band then. This album though, really has a piece of my heart.
3.
Post - Bjork - I wasn't sure what to make of Bjork at first. She was a little too different for me I guess. I liked the song "It's Oh So Quiet", thought it was big, and punchy. And the video I liked. Then a friend lent me this album and at first it was like... well okay. Interesting. Then the more I heard it, she stuck with me and I've loved her stuff ever since. Bjork rules. Even with the swan dress. ::grin::
