It's Oscar Night! I removed that meme from before because well I just didn't like the unreadable coloring. LOL!! Here is my official ballot in all the categories that matter.

Best Picture

Image hosting by Photobucket Brokeback Mountain

Director

Image hosting by Photobucket Ang Lee - Brokeback Mountain Though how often does the best picture winner get best director too?

Actor

Image hosting by Photobucket Philip Seymour Hoffman - Capote. His transformation into Truman was astounding.

Actress

Image hosting by Photobucket Reese Witherspoon - Walk The Line.

Supporting Actor

Image hosting by Photobucket George Clooney - Syriana GO GEORGE!

Supporting Actress

Image hosting by Photobucket Rachel Weisz - The Constant Gardener

Other categories:

Visual Effects

King Kong

Original Screenplay

Crash

Adapted Screenplay

Brokeback Mountain

Makeup

The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

Art Direction

Memoirs of a Geisha

Original Score

Memoirs of a Geisha because John Williams is da man and of this and Munich, he'll get it for this one.

Original Song

Lacking category this year. Only three noms. Though I LOVE "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" I don't feel it has what "Lose Yourself" did to make another rap song win in this category. It'll go to "In The Deep" from Crash.

Animated Feature

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Sound Editing

King Kong. RAAAWWWRRRR!

Sound Mixing

Walk The Line. The quite song-heavy Ray won this last year so I figure it'll go to the musical one of the lot again.

Film Editing

Crash

Cinematography

Brokeback Mountain

Documentary Feature

March of the Penguins. And what do you know? They're already in their tuxedos!!

Costume Design

Memoirs of a Geisha

And there you have it. Other categories are up in the air for me since I'm not overly familiar with the nominees. See you after the big show tonight!

Image hosting by Photobucket I caught a blurb about this on CNN last Monday as the movers were in and out, and got nervous thinking he'd died or something. I hadn't thought to comment on it here until now. I had such a thing for George when Wham! was really big. Caught him on his "Faith" tour too and did my share of fangirling along with the rest of the women in the audience. Until he came out and broke my heart. LOL!! I still enjoy his music, and think he's a wonderful singer. And hearing his name mentioned will still pique my interest.

This doesn't suprise me too much, sadly. I know he had his crazy times back in the day but I thought he'd gotten himself together by now, you know? But at least he knows what he's in for from the media... realizing he brought it all on himself, and that it's his "own stupid fault as usual." according to the latest.

Police arrested singer George Michael on suspicion of possessing drugs after he was found slumped at the wheel of a car.

The former Wham! star was taken into custody at Hyde Park Corner in central London early yesterday morning, following a call from a member of the public.

Michael, 42, was checked by paramedics but did not need hospital treatment.

Officers arrested him on suspicion of possessing Class C drugs before bailing him to return to a police station next month.

He was also initially arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive, but after being taken to a police station and examined by a doctor he was de-arrested for this alleged offence.

Liquid ecstasy

The Sun reported that the singer was booked by police under his real name, Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou.

The substances seized by officers are suspected to be cannabis and GHB, a drug also known as liquid ecstasy which is popular with clubbers, according to the paper.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "We were called by a member of the public to a man seen slumped over the steering wheel of a car on the street close to Hyde Park Corner.

"An ambulance attended, but the man was not suffering from any injuries so was not conveyed to hospital.

"Police attended and spoke to the man, aged 42. A search of the man revealed what was believed to be controlled substances.

"He was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances of category C and on suspicion of being unfit to drive.

De-arrested

"Following an examination by the duty doctor in the custody suite he was de-arrested for the driving offence.

"He has been released on bail to return to a central London police station on a date in late March pending analysis of the substances recovered."

A spokesman for London Ambulance said: "We were called to Hyde Park Corner this morning. One ambulance attended but no-one was taken to hospital."

This is not the first time Michael has found himself on the wrong side of the law.

In 1998 the star was arrested for lewd conduct in a public toilet in Los Angeles after being spotted by an undercover police officer.

The incident led him to reveal he was gay, ending years of mystery about his sexuality.

With schoolmate Andrew Ridgeley, the other half of Wham!, Michael had a string of hits in the mid-1980s with songs such as Wham Rap, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Freedom and I'm Your Man.

Split

In 1986 the duo split up and Michael pursued a solo career.

His first solo album, Faith, released in 1988, was a success with both the critics and music fans, selling in excess of 10 million copies.

The singer spent most of the early 1990s locked in a legal fight with his record company Sony which prevented him from recording any fresh material.

The legal battle was finally ended when Virgin and Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks paid Sony 40 million dollars - £23.8 million - to release him from a multi-album deal.

In December last year he released a new documentary charting the highs and lows of his turbulent career.

Michael has sold more than 85 million records worldwide and notched up six No 1 singles in the US, 11 in the UK and seen seven albums hit the top spot.

Almost forgot to post that my bottles of Mars and Sleepy Moon arrived last Saturday to the old address while we were still there. Since the Enraged Orangutan was lagging a bit, he's been CnSed so I'll have to wait till he forwards here.

LOVE Sleepy Moon. In fact, I wore a dab to bed a couple of nights ago and it was just wonderful.

Image hosting by Photobucket Surfing Entertainment Weekly's site, I ran across a mention... can it be possible that Janet Jackson's "Control" is 20? OMG it's frightening how fast time goes by. My ex had such a THING for that album, constantly had it playing so it always reminds me of him. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you... good memories. :)

Quote from Janet's longtime collaborator Jimmy Jam to MTV:
"We're celebrating 20 years since the Control album, so it would be crazy not to at least acknowledge that a little bit. So we're digging out all the old sounds that we haven't used in years and she sounds fantastic. It's a record for the hardcore Janet fans: It's very danceable, very upbeat, very happy."

Good to know that she's getting back to her basics. I dig old school Janet so this will be awesome, I'm sure. Great too, since there were only like one, or two maximum songs on the last couple of albums that really got me.

::runs off to put some Control and Rhythm Nation songs on her iPod::
