Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
Well, Paris Hilton has done her time (all 28 days of it OMG *rolls eyes*) and is out of the pokey.
Just received my order of Privilege and Pruno, so here are my thoughts.
Limited Edition scents, only offered during the length of Paris Hilton's jail sentence. Part of the proceeds went to aid California women's shelters.
Privilege
Polished party-girl sleaze. This is a shameless scent, devoid of caution, regret, or introspection. This perfume reeks of tabloid glamour, and has no substance whatsoever. Armoise, tuberose, white citrus, rose absolute, oakmoss, tiare, tuberose, vanilla, linden, and lemon tree blossom.
Although this scent originated with fine plants and the pure essences, the final result is a grotesque, eerily empty caricature of a debauched, narcissistic would-be debutante.
In The Bottle: It's girly and perfumey. Quite classic and traditional to the nose.
On Wet: Very light, unobtrusive floral. Something sweet with the floral underlying.
On Drydown: "Empty" is the perfect way to describe this scent. While light and lovely and demanding attention, it lacks any real depth or substance. It rather wafts in and around, mingling, fleeting.
Overall: I rather like it for summer. It's just right, not overpowering. Had some alright lasting power on me.
Pruno
Jailhouse hooch. Distilled in toilets, this vintage is comprised of chow line droppings, including oranges, apples, ketchup, and sugar.
In the Bottle: Reminds me of the syrup in Del Monte Fruit Cocktail.
On Wet: Fermented syrup of fruit cocktail! LOL!!!
On Drydown: Turns a touch more foody / sweet on me, kinda bubbly. And with an underlying whiff of the scent of Burt's Bee's Tomato Garden Toner, which I LOVE.
Overall: I bought this just because it looked fun. I didn't really know what to expect from the description, honestly. If you're a fan of sweet / foody / boozy scents, this is right up your alley. I love it!
By the way, if you dare, make your own Pruno! The drink... not the perfume. And if you do, man are you brave! LOL!
