hippie_chick: (Polly / cute cartoon)
I'm back, and finished reading. I have a lot to say but not yet. I need to digest. But for now, I bring meme goodness. The Tuesday meme will come later, because that's a good one and I want to think on it while at work today.

It's Cute Day over there, so here we go.

Cutest song: Down Under - Men at Work

Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said...

Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, do you speak-a my language?
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said...

I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Lying in a den in Bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?
And he said...

Oh! do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Cutest band: The Beatles during their early days.

Cutest instrument: Mandolin. It's made a comeback thanks to Paul McCartney's "Dance Tonight"! And looking at the answers so far everyone agrees. *nods*

And this really, and I mean really does not surprise me. So much for rehab, and extending your stay there and talking about "getting better" eh, Linds?

Same as Paris, basically but WAY more wasted. Do I smell jail time?

Lindsay Lohan Arrested for DUI

MSNBC News Services
Updated: 41 minutes ago

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - "Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Santa Monica, Calif., early Tuesday morning. The arrest comes a week after the 21-year-old actress checked out of an alcohol treatment center.

Santa Monica police Sgt. Robert Hernandez says Lohan was behind the wheel of a vehicle pulled over just after 2 a.m. on Main Street near the Civic Center in Santa Monica. According to police, she was chasing another car when she was pulled over.

Officers determined she had been drinking and she was arrested for drunken driving and driving with a suspended license. During booking, cocaine was found in her pants pocket.

According to KNBC, Lohan refused to take a Breathalyzer test at the scene but failed a field sobriety test. She reportedly did agree to take the Breathalyzer exam at the Santa Monica police station, which registered a .12. The legal limit in California is 0.08.

Lohan was released on $25,000 bail. According to police, she will be arraigned on Aug. 23.

The actress recently spent more than a month at Promises rehabilitation facility in Malibu and she's already facing a drunken driving charge in Beverly Hills.

Lohan agreed to wear an alcohol-detecting anklet upon her release from the Promises treatment center in Malibu, but it was unclear if that played a role in the traffic stop."

ETA:

And though I'm not really a fan or reader of his, this was notated on ONTD. Sometimes Perez Hilton can have *some* interesting and useful info. For instance:

"California has a DUI / DWI “washout” period of 10 years, calculated from arrest date to arrest date. This means that anyone arrested for drunk or drug driving within 10 years of the last arrest date will be charged with a second offense, with increased penalties and punishment. The punishment in court for a second or third drunk driving conviction is much harsher than for a first offense – a multiple-offense drunk driving conviction carries mandatory jail time, an 18-month alcohol education program, a required ignition interlock device (such as Smart Start), and more."

Yes, thanks to ONTD I've already seen her booking info. She's charged with a felony. This is DUI #2 and close to her first one... (see above) and also she could add possession to those charges (the cocaine) thus I'm pretty sure she'll do jail time. And a lot more jail time than Paris did. Possibly up to a year.

Oh my.
