Sorry it's a day late.
Jan. 23rd, 2008 05:16 pmTuesday Tunes @ The Music Memoirs
And it's weird, I see Monday there but no Tuesday. So this is copy and paste from another journal.
Odd weeks are word association weeks..but this week it has a twist. I'm going to list several instruments and you give me a favorite song or artist that plays or features that instrument.
I'll go with songs.
guitar: Eruption - Eddie Van Halen. Just kick ass, in your face guitar here.
piano: Piano Man - Billy Joel. Sing us a song you're the piano man...
mandolin: Dance Tonight - Paul McCartney. I love this one... gets the toes tappin'!
drums: Rock And Roll - Led Zeppelin. The late, great John Bonham, ladies and gentlemen.
bass: Paperback Writer - The Beatles. I have a hard time picking Paul's best bass lines, but this one is great.
harmonica: Love Me Do - The Beatles. John wailed on the harmonica here!
flute: Bungle in the Jungle - Jethro Tull. Ian Anderson and the flute? Synonymous.
Bonus- Cowbell!
Haha!! Well, yeah, "Don't Fear The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult. I got a fever and the only cure is more COWBELL! *grins* But there's also the great ditty "Grazing In The Grass" , the instrumental by Hugh Masekela.
