Three pioneers of rock and roll - Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson (The Big Bopper) as well as pilot Roger Peterson, perished in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa on this date 49 years ago.


But February made me shiver. With every paper I'd deliver bad news on the doorstep. I couldn't take one more step. I can't remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride, but something touched me deep inside the day the music died...And in case you were interested:

I recommend the films "La Bamba" and "The Buddy Holly Story", each are positively excellent. Of course, we all know that the music didn't "die" with these three men, because rock? Went on to become even bigger and evolve. But they left a great legacy.
