And all that jazz...
Mar. 23rd, 2003 04:38 pmGetting ready for the Oscar telecast. It's going to be a shame not being able to see everyone on the red carpet but I can, I suppose, understand their need to keep it low key this year.
My bets are on the following for the major awards:
Best Actor:
I feel it may end up going to Adrian Brody for "The Pianist" but I loved Daniel Day Lewis in "Gangs Of New York" so I'm going for him.
Best Supporting Actor
I will go for Ed Harris in "Adaptation". He's an incredible actor. But this is a tough category to call. They are all outstanding in these roles.
Best Actress
I would love for Nicole Kidman to get it for her performance in "The Hours", but I liked Salma Hayek in "Frida" just a little bit better.
Supporting Actress
Gotta pull for my girl Meryl Streep here. I love her... you don't even know how much. She blows me away in ANYTHING she's in. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Queen Latifah may cancel each other out being in the same category for the same film. We could be suprised though when this one is called.
Animated Feature
Lilo And Stitch. Hands down for me! :) :)
Music (Song)
Eminem is nominated. This is a juicy category this year. Let's see... I pick "I Move On" from "Chicago".
Music (Score)
I loved the music in "Frida" .
Director
I want Rob Marshall to get it for "Chicago"... but we could be suprised and see Scorsese get it for "Gangs..." .
Best Picture
I want LotR to get it but they won for the first film ;).... so "Chicago" is my second choice here.
I really think "Chicago" will be the sweeper this year... it'll surely get alot of technical awards like editing and sound too.
Okay off to plant myself in front of the telly for the pre show coverage .
