Not much has been happening that's been update worthy, but I thought I'd make an appearance anyway since it's been over a week.
Catching up on my friends list.
Today at work, a man is standing at the entrance to the Stationery aisle. Asks me where the glue is. I tell him to turn around, and it's on the top shelf, to his right. He gets incensed with me, looks intently at my nametag, uses my name (did I say I really hate that?) and says "POLLY, you aren't telling me what I need to know!" and gets all pissy. ::Polly thinks to herself : what an asshat!:: I commence to stating, in a confused state that I in fact *did* tell him what he asked for. It was a mere three paces down the aisle for crying out loud! He turns walks to the glue. Picks up a bottle and checks out. Yeah. Whatever. ::rolls eyes::
Movie recommendation for you: Monster. Charlize Theron is AMAZING. And yes, Christina Ricci is a favorite of mine so she was a big bonus. But this movie was just... you have to see it. Horrible. Sad. I read in a magazine review of Charlize Theron's performance something I thought immediately when watching her in this role. She was like a dog that had been abused and beaten so much and so long that even when reached out to in love, it would flinch, fearing being betrayed again. Her eyes. The set of her jaw... how she carried the tension in them. Wow.
I am lucky, as I have a theater right up the street that is independently owned and not beholden to filling fifteen screens with the latest blockbuster. They always get the best indies in there which I love. So many great performances and movies get overlooked because they're indies and don't get wide releases.
Anyway, speaking of movies, I've got Donnie Brasco on in the background. Mmmm... Depp goodness. ::nods::
Off to finish the movie in fact. Later! <3
