The Random 10 @ The Music Memoirs
This is my first time doing this one. Here's my weekend 10. It's all about Prince because I was listening to "The Hits 1" and "The Hits 2" a whole heckuva lot this weekend. I just felt like showing Prince the love. So here's some sweet funk-ay soul.

The tracks I listened to most:
1. Pop Life - Prince
This is from an album that I think is pure psychedelic funky gloriousness, "Around The World In A Day". This song is about coping with life's harsh realities. Culminating with the chorus "Everybody can't be on top but life it ain't real funky unless it's got that pop. Dig it." And God I loved him with The Revolution!!!! ♥
2. When Doves Cry - Prince
Yes from "Purple Rain". Great, great song. The only thing about this particular CD (The Hits 1) is that this is an edited version and not the album version. Tsk tsk tsk. Thank goodness I do own the "Purple Rain" CD as well.
3. Alphabet St. - Prince
Here from the album "Lovesexy", and one of the only songs besides "Anna Stesia" that I really liked on that one. It's just pure out and out in yo face FONK.
4. Cream - Prince
From the album "Diamonds and Pearls". Just a great song that gets ya movin'. Sh-boogie bop!
5. Pink Cashmere - Prince
Just soft and silky goodness.
6. Gett Off - Prince
From the album "Diamonds and Pearls" again. Wonderful danceable stuff. Naughty Prince in his raunchy groove.
7. Peach - Prince
A newer song when it was released on "The Hits 2". It moves along on a bluesy groove. It's alright but it's yet to really grow on me.
8. Thieves In The Temple - Prince
Yeah. From "Graffiti Bridge". I really really like this one. Goes along the same groove sort of as "When Doves Cry".
9. U Got The Look - Prince
From "Sign 'O' The Times". Song features guest vocalist Sheena Easton. That whole album was pure brilliance, and this song was in my top three favorites from it for awhile. Also try "Starfish and Coffee" "Housequake" and "If I Was Your Girlfriend". A double album worth of genius my friends.
10. Jungle Love - The Time
From "Ice Cream Castle". Not Prince, but I had to throw this in for good measure. It relates to him though, since it's The Time, from "Purple Rain" and "Graffiti Bridge" . Pure FONK, people. Oh wee oh wee oh!
Oh! An additional track for you to try out that I love, "7" from the "Symbol" album. Love the Indian instrumentation that spices it up.
All hail Prince!
And if you'd like copies of any of these just let me know which, give me your email, and I can arrange that.
