I wouldn't plan on seeing it in the future. The pre-show chatter and the reviews of the show so far are that it's absolutely painfully abyssmal. I've already seen ads for tickets on tv locally which is never a good sign. It sounds like it's going to close pretty quickly which is a shame cos I like the source material (even if Anne Rice seems to have completely lost her mind now). The music I've heard is pretty bad but that's never stopped people before. *coughAidacough*

Awww... thank you for filling me in on that. I just adore John/Taupin (never did see Aida and only heard like two songs). And well it's Lestat!!

It just seemed so darned cool it's too bad. *weeps some more*

I'm sure there will be a soundtrack album. The few snippets they ran in the commercial were kind of bland and syrupy which is a shame. It doesn't mean that all the music will be bad but I didn't like it. Then again, I didn't like Aida and it ran for a few years.

However, all the scuttlebutt on Lestat has been negative, there were so many problems going in and I don't think ticket sales are very good. Like I said, normally if a show is hot, they don't need to advertise at all (The Producers didn't run a single ad, even in the papers for the first year) and advertising on tv means that they need to really push it. I think it's going to wind up like the Jim Steinman Vampire musical and die a quick death.

Like I said, it's a shame. A musical about Lestat is a great idea. I don't know what the trouble is, just that it's a mess.
