Softer, softest.
Feb. 6th, 2007 06:50 amTake Me Back Tuesday @ The Music Memoirs
Last week we went loud. This week, we'll soften it down a touch.
Take "soft" as you will. Soft rock, having the word soft in it...let your imagination go on this one.
I'll go "soft rock".
Artists:
1. The Eagles. I love this band. Their easy, laid back country-flavored rock has yielded a string of hit singles and albums.
After their "break-up" they came back strong, Glenn Frey stating "...for the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14 year vacation" making the ensuing tour a "resumption" of the band not a "reunion" of it.
2. James Taylor. He's got a smooth, folksy style and is one of my favorite singer-songwriters.
3. Bread. They're instantly recognizable if you were around in the 1970s, and their music is still played on the radio and covered by other artists. Boy George did a wonderful version of "Everything I Own" a few years ago.
Songs:
1. Take It Easy (Eagles)
2. Carolina In My Mind (James Taylor)
3. Baby I'm-A Want You (Bread)
Albums:
1. Hotel California (Eagles) Possibly their most successful, popular album.
2. Sweet Baby James (James Taylor) Contains his biggest hit "Fire And Rain".
3. Baby I'm-A Want You (Bread) This album peaked at #3 and contains one of my favorites, "Diary" as well as the title track and "Everything I Own".
