Remembering John Lennon 1940-1980
Dec. 8th, 2006 08:34 amTop Five on Friday @ The Music Memoirs
Top 5 CDs you'd like to find in your Christmas stocking this year.
1. Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs and Chanteys
2. December's Children (And Everybody's) - The Rolling Stones. Yes I'm still collecting my wanted Stones CDs.
3. Peter Gabriel 1: Car A couple of gaps in my Peter collection, this is one.
4. CSN: Greatest Hits I still have to get some good Crosby Stills and Nash, have the first album on vinyl but want a good package of the hits and this looks like a good one.
5. Physical Graffiti- Led Zeppelin I'm quite sad for my copy of the CD is gone. GONE. It's been pilfered. :( Need to replace.
Our meme mistress also left us a bonus in case we felt inclined to choose or do both. I couldn't pass this one up. Not today. :(
Top 5 songs written by and /or performed by John Lennon.

1. #9 Dream - I think it's his most beautiful piece musically.
2. How? - Introspective, soul searching with some actually just right orchestration by Phil Spector.
3. Mind Games - The optimistic 60s ideal is gone. "Yes is surrender..."
4. Working Class Hero - "Theres room at the top they are telling you still. But first you must learn how to smile as you kill if you want to be like the folks on the hill. A working class hero is something to be. A working class hero is something to be."
5. Whatever Gets You Thru The Night. S'alright, s'alright.
Get these albums: Plastic Ono Band, Walls and Bridges
LOVE
Love is real, real is love
Love is feeling, feeling love
Love is wanting to be loved
Love is touch, touch is love
Love is reaching, reaching love
Love is asking to be loved
Love is you
You and me
Love is knowing
We can be
Love is free, free is love
Love is living, living love
Love is needing to be loved
