Jim Carrey on The Number 23 Enigma

That video is Jim Carrey talking briefly about some curiosities involving the number 23.
Just got back from the movie "The Number 23". The critics are not being too kind, but really it's an alright thriller. Stuff I never thought about before. And there are twists I didn't expect, which I like... I like a film that I can't figure out. And okay yes, I forgive Joel Schumacher "Batman Forever" *and* "Batman and Robin" for teh suck, because he is able to turn out a good movie enough times. "Phone Booth" was pretty good, and well... HELLO! "The Lost Boys"! *nods* For that alone. Anyway.
It was just weird, dark, and kinda cool. Jim Carrey isn't an entirely bad actor, and I'm glad he is able to take roles that allow him to stretch a little and go beyond the comedy thing. I give him mad, mad props for trying and for wanting to be more than just "that funny guy from Ace Ventura". And mad love for Virginia Madsen. Always good to see her in something.
It's gotten to only 8 percent which is... really kinda rotten... on Rotten Tomatoes, but I don't think the critics are being very fair. :p Jim was actually quite effective here. Sufficiently creepy. No, not a "career movie" by any long shot and yes he was better in Eternal Sunshine (even The Truman Show which blended some funny and some drama) as a dramatic role goes, but this kept me sticking around.
The story. It's all about a shluppy dog catcher named Walter Sparrow. He comes in possession of a pulp detective novel that sets him off... he becomes all consumed and obsessed. With a number. A number he feels is "out to get him". And if you are aware of the mystical and creepy properties that the number 23 has in history, you'll understand it all.
I won't get into it any further because it kind of twists and turns and takes you into a couple of unexpected places and I don't want to leave any spoilers. But if you're looking for an entertaining pulpy thriller to see on a lazy afternoon, this is it. Ignore the critics and give it a shot.
And that whole "23 Enigma" thing? Well I maintain that you can find anything in anything if you try hard enough. As well, aren't 2 and 3 the two most common prime numbers? Much of that stuff, I feel, is coincidence. But I digress. OMG though... when I walked out the door of the theater to the car, it was 23 minutes after 4. Just gave me a lil' start there.

P.S.
Is it coincidence (or is he *really* obsessed) that Jim Carrey's production company is called JC23?
