It's funny though. Why do they all come out to People a la Ellen lately? LOL!

LOL Who didn't know Clay Aiken was gay? But then again, there were people who were surprised about Ellen and Rosie O'Donnell too. So what do I know?

I'm glad he at least is being honest about it. Better than being closeted and in denial, even if his Claymates are probably all contemplating mass suicide as we speak.

I can imagine. It just seemed patently obvious to me, but I'm from New York City and born with amazing gaydar so...yeah.

I think it's cool and I hope he can be a positive role model and stuff. His kid's kind of cute too.

Some of the comments from the ClayBoard are being cut and pasted to ONTD and I'm just agog at the fan reaction. Shooooooooot, man. I feel bad for him, because these women are just crazy. I'm sure he'll bounce back and be just fine, but some of these comments had me going OMG WOAH!

Stuff like one saying she can't support him anymore since he "chose this lifestyle..." Honey? Nobody CHOOSES their sexual orientation. It just IS. You don't wake up one morning and go "I think I'll be gay!" you know? Dumb. DUMB.

I wish him the best too. I don't dislike him even though his music isnt really my thing. Someone who is no longer on my flist (but I think you might've known her too) knew him from their little town in NC and said he was a nice guy. And apparently everyone who knew him knew he was gay too...

I'm sure his fans are bugfuck nuts and not necessarily in the good way. They're like Brangaloonies, Macca-is-God types and other devoted followers of celebs: completely delusional. Maybe some of them will be okay and learn to be tolerant of gay people, which would be a good thing. But most of them are just gonna stay the way they are and that's sad.

They'll never understand that people don't chose to be gay...it's easier to believe it's a nasty choice because otherwise, maybe God made people that way and omg, we might have to accept it. :-p
