I was honest, went through the list and am going to come clean about those that I've subjected myself to. None at the theater, which I can say with much relief, but thanks to cable, in a fit of boredom. Or there was nothing else on and I was too lazy to go put on a DVD. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!
My Total: 10/100.

So yes I've done a pretty good job of avoiding most of the dreck. Now I know you want to know which of them I've seen, right? As I said, full disclosure, I admit to them.
* Glitter. God help me. I had to watch, just to see first hand. And it was as bad as I anticipated.
* Surviving Christmas. For Gandolfini, I swear. Okay, so yeah. Christmas Turkey.
* Deck The Halls. For Matt Broderick, for I adore him. But the Christmas lights fizzled fast.
* Envy. For Ben Stiller mostly. Jack Black is so hit or miss with me. This one should have been flushed right along with all the bad poop jokes.
* Gigli. For what I don't know. Boredom. Affleck and Lopez had absolutely zero sparks and chemistry. I just couldn't believe how honestly God awful it was.
* The Hottie and the Nottie. I know. I KNOW. Why you ask me? WHY? Friend. Netflix. *shrug* It made for some good LOLZ though and it's best to watch when drunk on wine like we were. Paris Hilton really cannot act can she? Um... so this one? SO a "nottie".
* Swept Away. Okay I love me some Madonna damn it. I'm sorry, but I do. However this? Madge, stick to the music because this acting gig is just not for you.
Shipwreck? You betcha!
* Fear.Com. I will admit the concept sounded cool. And I'm always up for checking out the latest horror film. But this was just really lackluster.
* Bless The Child. Another one that looked cool then turned out to be disappointing. Brought some LOLZ that I'm not sure were intentional.
* One Missed Call. As I said I'm always up for checking out the latest horror flick. But this one? Laughably bad. More proof that America should not try to "do" Japanese horror. A cell phone with no charge.

Date: 2009-09-26 01:05 pm (UTC)I agree the Japanese version of "One Missed Call" was SO SO much better. Same with "The Grudge"... "Ju-On" excelled over it. The only one I think we did semi decently was The Ring and even then the Japanese was superior.

Date: 2009-09-26 01:46 pm (UTC)Asian horror films are incredible! They scare more with imagination rather than always resorting to blood and gore. That little boy in Ju-On freaks me out every time, even when I know what is going to happen. He opens his mouth and I shiver.

Date: 2009-09-26 09:41 pm (UTC)The Japanese original of "One Missed Call" was on Channel Four while I was in Edinburgh, the night before I came home, and I watched it (having not seen the American version, thankfully)...and it was some REALLY scary shit. See it if you can!
