Robert Zemeckis Cancels Planned Yellow Submarine Remake

It had been cast, too. Peter Serafinowicz was cast to voice Paul McCartney, Dean Lennox Kelly as John Lennon, Cary Elwes as George Harrison and Adam Campbell as Ringo Starr. The Fab Four were slated to provide the motion-capture / performance of The Beatles. I'm kind of glad it's not going forward. I don't know, I just feel like it would have been horrible. The original always and forever. It was beautifully animated and a complete work of art.

Speaking of Cary Elwes though, I re watched "The Crush" the other night. Good movie. But I have to laugh every time he breaks his accent and you hear the British coming through. Particularly in scenes where he's angry or agitated. I don't know. Anyway.

YAY! I've only seen the orig once, but it's flawless IMO. Plus without the Beatles, it's not even... I mean, just no.

I don't have words for how relieved I am. Voice talents aside (Peter Serafinowicz is brilliant in pretty much anything), it would've been a major major fail, esp since Zemeckis wanted to do his creepy motion capture thing (e.g. The Polar Express). Plus it does NOT have to be remade.

It's time to mix, Max! :)
