Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone. If you are venturing out tonight stay safe and have fun. I intend to sequester myself inside with Marx Brothers movies, a little Twilight Zone and some bubbly. May 2010 be a much better year all around. I know it's been a rough one for many. I like the "clean slate" feeling of a new year. It's there to make of it what we will! Much love and positivity to you all!
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of Auld Lang Syne.
For Auld Lang Syne, my dear,
for Auld Lang Syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet
for Auld Lang Syne.
================================================
Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light:
The year is dying in the night--
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new--,
Ring happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
-Alfred Lord Tennyson

When I hear or think about the song Auld Lang Syne, I think of the scene on New Years Eve in the movie When Harry Met Sally... as Harry and Sally discuss the meaning of this traditional Scottish New Years Eve tune.
Harry: What does this song mean? My whole life, I don't know what this song means. I mean, 'Should old acquaintance be forgot'? Does that mean that we should forget old acquaintances, or does it mean if we happened to forget them, we should remember them, which is not possible because we already forgot?
Sally: Well, maybe it just means that we should remember that we forgot them or something. Anyway, it's about old friends.
So here's to you, friends old and new. May you have a good year ahead, full of prosperity, luck, and love.
